About Hawthorn Lodge

Hawthorn Lodge is a wonderful, spacious, detached bungalow set in a large, enclosed garden in the hamlet of Hill Mountain, just over a mile outside the estuary village of Llangwm.

Comfortably furnished to a high standard throughout in a contemporary style, it is ideal for families and friends to get together. Step into this welcoming holiday home, double doors open to the spacious sitting room with wonderful sofas and a wood burning stove for those chillier evenings, the conservatory offers further comfortable seats and a dining space overlooking the super front garden. French doors open to a decked area, a lovely spot to catch the afternoon and evening sun overlooking the prettily planted mature garden. The sitting room leads through to the kitchen/diner with a large table, perfect for leisurely family meals prepared in the super, modern, fitted kitchen. French doors open to the rear decked area, enjoy an alfresco meal while the lawned area gives space for children to play. The long hallway takes you to the spacious bedrooms with quality beds and stylish linen.

Conveniently located, just over a mile from the stunning Cleddau estuary, this secret waterway abounds in bird and wildlife, explore the plentiful footpaths that criss-cross this area. The village of Llangwm nearby has a vibrant local community with a pub, village shop and pharmacy. Ideal for sailing enthusiasts and those that just love messing around on the water, there are numerous slipways nearby. Enjoy a meal at the Beggars Reach in nearby Burton or try the Jolly Sailor overlooking the waterway. Brunel Quay and Neyland Marina is well worth a visit, with a popular waterside cafe, explore the cycle and footpath, the Brunel Trail, which takes you through to Haverfordwest. This picturesque market town in the heart of the County has a range of facilities and fine Castle.

Perfectly positioned to explore, there are a range of stunning sandy beaches within easy reach, the closest being Broad Haven to the west with the Dale peninsula, Marloes and Little Haven, while Martins Haven is the embarkation point for the boat to Skomer to see the puffins. To the east visit the medieval Pembroke Castle then on to Bosherston and the famous Lily Ponds, Broadhaven South, Freshwater West and Angle should not be missed.

This Access Statement has been prepared by the owner for your information; it is the most recent version that we have received. This statement has been prepared as objectively as possible, however with such a wide remit oversights may be made.

Approached from Haverfordwest on Pembroke Road. Narrow 9’ gated access to compressed shingle driveway leads up to the garage, parking for 3–4 cars. External motion sensor lighting above garage illuminates driveway and parking area. Main entrance door is reached via two 6” high steps. External light in porch area (switch is internal in hallway entrance area). Alternative entrance via wooden decked area through conservatory or to the rear of the property either through a single width stable back door or double width patio doors. Side & rear access is via a narrow, paved side path, restricted width. Garden extends to the front and rear of the property providing grassed, decked and patio areas to the front. The front garden is on a very slight incline to the house. To the rear it is grassed, decked and has raised seating areas. There is a high step up to the grass. There are raised decked flower beds to the rear of the property and large trees, shrubs & hedges throughout the garden areas. The garage maybe accessed via a short steep slope, up & over door, internal lighting & access through a fire door to the house via 3 steps. This door is locked from the inside. Ground floor facilities include conservatory via a single glazed door from the lounge, lounge, dining area, kitchen, utility room, wooden or tiled floors throughout these areas. Entrance hallway, long corridor, carpeted throughout these areas. 3 bedrooms (1 en suite shower/whb/toilet room) and a family shower/whb/toilet bathroom. Carpeted throughout these areas except for fully tiled en suite & bathroom. None of the bedrooms are interconnecting. Decoration is neutral colours throughout with dark coloured carpets and curtains or blinds to every window. Further 4th bedroom and walk in wardrobe also on ground floor, but down one 4” step, carpeted throughout with fully tiled en suite. Kitchen has extensive work surfaces, low level fridge, dishwasher, mid-level ovens and built in coffee maker. The microwave is recessed at the back of the work area. Utility Room has low level washing machine and tumble dryer, tiled throughout. All the rooms are well lit and have both natural & artificial lighting. TV & DVD Lounge are operated by remote control & TV & DVD Kitchen are operated by remote control. Fully glazed conservatory with lighting & ceiling fan (pull cord switches are above head height) off lounge area. Guide dogs welcome. Garden is enclosed once gates are closed at bottom of driveway, but it is not entirely secure. Care and observation of pets is suggested at all times. Public Transport: 308 Bus (circular route via Haverfordwest). Trains are Haverfordwest or Pembroke. Local taxis available from Haverfordwest or Pembroke. Please note the Super king bed can be made into twin beds but NONE of the beds are height adjustable. There is a travel cot with two mattress height positions which converts to a play pen & changer unit. The highchair converts to a booster seat & the trays are dishwasher safe. There is a landline telephone for low cost local calls & WiFi (although low speed). At the end of the corridor with stair gate, this is the owners private area - not for use of guests.
