About Llys Bonfyl

Llys Bonfyl is a charming, detached, stone cottage newly renovated and extended set above the village of St Dogmaels, all its excellent facilities are only a short downhill walk away.

Comfortably furnished to a high standard in a mix of contemporary and antique pieces with wooden floors, high ceilings and sash windows, it offers plenty of space for the whole family to relax, with 2 reception rooms. One has a wood burning stove ensuring a cosy feel on the chilliest of evenings, as well as a quiet reading room which makes an ideal spot for guests needing to study or work while on holiday.

There is even a wonderful play room nestling in the eaves on the second floor, but mind your head, as the beams are low.  The sitting room leads through to the newly extended kitchen/diner with its modern fitted well-equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing family meals. The vaulted ceiling and glass gable end makes this a really super light sunny spot to enjoy meals overlooking the front garden or relaxing in the comfortable seats soaking up the view over the distant hillside. Patio doors open to the enclosed front garden and a paved terrace where you can dine alfresco on a summer’s day, this garden is prettily planted with a small lawn and further raised patio with pergola, while to the rear steps lead to a further patio with a picnic bench.

Off the kitchen lies a useful utility/boot room and shower room. Stairs take you to the 3 bedrooms on the first floor with super views over the hillside and a newly fitted bathroom with bath and large low-level shower enclosure.

Conveniently located for all St Dogmaels has to offer with the Abbey Ruins, BBC Award- Winning Farmer’s Market, shops, galleries, popular fish and chip shop and a choice of pubs, with one set overlooking the picturesque river Teifi.  Enjoy exploring this tidal estuary, the bird and wildlife will enthral and is perfect for those who just enjoy messing around on the water. The start of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is only approx 2.5 miles away at Poppit Sands, this really is the best way to appreciate this stunning rugged coastline. Take advantage of the new Fflecsi Bus service which replaces the Pocket Rocket to get a lift back after a bracing walk, while Poppit Sands with its large stretch of sand is a stunning beach to explore.

The bustling market town of Cardigan with its Castle and riverside location is only a short drive away and offers a range of boutique shops and independent traders, as well as pubs and restaurants, or enjoy an evening’s entertainment at Theatre Mwldan, taking in a live show or a film. A boat trip round Cardigan Bay, a designated Heritage Coast, to spot the resident Bottlenose dolphins, porpoises and grey seals should not be missed. Or head round the coast taking in the rugged unspoilt beauty of Ceibwr Bay or on to Newport set on the Nevern Estuary with its glorious sandy beach.

The Barnes-Cupit Family + Hanna

Hello! We just wanted to say thank you for our lovely stay! The views are beautiful! Our favourite beach to go to was probably Mwnt as we saw dolphins really close to the shore! We also went to Cardigan coastal farm park which was lovely - we saw some seals by the rocks! Poppit sands is a lovely beach with warm sea! The chip shop down the road was lovely too!
