Holiday Cottage in St Dogmaels

About Llys Bonfyl

Llys Bonfyl is a charming, detached, stone cottage set above the village of St Dogmaels, all its excellent facilities are only a short downhill walk away.

Comfortably furnished to a high standard with wooden floors, in a mix of contemporary and antique pieces, it offers plenty of space for the whole family to relax with two reception rooms and even a wonderful play room nestling in the eaves on the second floor but mind your head, as the beams are low. The welcoming sitting room with its wood burning stove makes a cosy retreat, while a second sitting/dining room offers an alternative quiet spot. The cottage-style fitted, kitchen is well-equipped and perfect for preparing family meals. The bedrooms on the first floor offer super views over the hillside.

The prettily planted front garden is enclosed with a small lawn and a raised patio with pergola, a lovely sheltered sunny spot to enjoy an alfresco meal on a summer’s evening, while to the rear, steps lead to a further patio with a picnic bench.

Conveniently located for all St Dogmaels has too offer with the Abbey Ruins, BBC award winning Farmer’s Market, shops, galleries, popular fish and chip shop and a choice of pubs with one set overlooking the picturesque river Teifi. Enjoy exploring this tidal estuary, the bird and wildlife will enthral and is perfect for those who just enjoy messing around on the water. The start of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is only approx 2.5 miles away at Poppit Sands, this really is the best way to appreciate this stunning rugged coastline, take advantage of the Pocket Rocket bus to get a lift back after a bracing walk, while Poppit Sands is a stunning beach to explore.

The bustling market town of Cardigan with its Castle and riverside location is only a short drive away and offers a range of boutique shops and independent traders, as well as pubs and restaurants. A boat trip round Cardigan Bay, a designated Heritage Coast, to spot the resident bottle nose dolphins, porpoises and grey seals should not be missed. Or head round the coast taking in the rugged unspoilt beauty of Ceibwr Bay or on to Newport set on the Nevern estuary with its glorious sandy beach.

A wonderful holiday home for family and friends to get together, whatever the time of year.
