A local pub, shop and play park are within a few 100 yards, while the sandy beaches of Musselwick and Marloes Sands are both within 1 mile - ideal for both families and walkers alike. Dale is nearby, with its sheltered harbour making it popular for sailing enthusiasts while the watersports centre caters for all.
Why not try a boat trip to the islands of Skokholm and Skomer which depart from Martin's Haven, only a short drive away.

This October, the popular ghost story of The Woman In Black comes to the Torch Theatre in a great spine-chilling stage play. Arthur Kipps is invited to tell a ghost story and so recalls his past experiences encountering the "woman in black". According to the legends, she haunts Eel Marsh House and every time she is seen, a child dies. What will be the outcome of the ghost story?The play is recommended for those aged 14 and over. Pembroke Castle's Ghost Finder General, Howard, will take you on a ghoulish ghost tour around the Castle, as he tells you a selection of our ghost sightings and happenings from 900 year history of sudden death and disaster. Please note: The tour will last about an hour and a half, and is for ages 7 and up, they do ask that the children stay close to their parents and grandparents at all times, as adults tend to scare easily! Tickets are £5 each and are available from the castle shop or can be booked online. Halloween costumes are encouraged, but please wear warm outdoor clothing and suitable footwear - our tower's staircases are a chilling place at night! A torch is essential as you can only see ghosts with the help of light!

Milford Haven's annual Firework display which will take place on the Marina. This year’s event will take place from 4:30-8:30pm at the Mackerel Quay, Milford Haven Marina, and also include a music concert organised by local radio station 102.5 Radio Pembrokeshire. Solva's Annual Fireworks Display is taking place on Saturday 5th November this year. A firm favourite amongst many, this event is a free event with donations encouraged. The fire will be lit at 6.30pm with the fireworks display starting at 7pm weather permitting. The event will go ahead on the 6th November if the weather prevents the event happening on the 5th. Refreshments will be available from the nearby cafes, pubs and restaurants.

Get muddy this Christmas with this festive muddy event! This Mud Run is approximately 8k and takes you through some boggy, muddy areas of coast path and possibly the sea! Crossing through farmland, this route will take you climbing over and under things getting you well and truly covered in mud! Take part with friends for fun or challenge them to a race! This event is not timed, but the final finishing order will be published after the event. The baby Princess Rose is given a curse from the evil Maleficent stating she will die on her 16th birthday but her Fairy Godmother steps in and Rose instead falls into a deep sleep which can only be broken by a handsome prince - this is sure to be a fantastic production by the Torch Theatre once again! Pembrokeshire band Honey Fungus are playing a live gig at The Castle Inn, Little Haven this December. The set combines well-known songs with their own acoustic music and stories. Pop along for some great food, a great atmosphere and some quality live music. The performance starts at 9.30pm.
A perfect way to bring in the new year, Victoria Hall in Roch is hosting their annual New Years celebrations with a bonfire and fireworks. The event starts from 5pm onwards with the lighting of the bonfire, and refreshments are available in the hall throughout the evening. Admission to be paid upon entry.
Known to be a very challenging but beautiful course, the Ras Dewi Sant is a full and a half marathon running on Saturday 25th February. The full marathon runs point to point along the coastal path with an entry cost of £35 whereas the half marathon is a loop course with an entry cost of £25. All entry includes a T-shirt, Medal and refreshments including cawl, tea and coffee. There are also first aid stations and changing rooms available for all participants.
A firm favourite with our regular visitors, Picton Castle's Easter Egg Trail for children is a self-guided scamper through fabulous woodlands as they burst into bloom. Collect your leaflet at the Ticket Office and follow the trail – you will find clues along the way! When you have finished, pop into the Gift Shop to collect your prize. It's a great way for the whole family to enjoy the woodlands as masses of Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Magnolias come into flower. While the kids rush around in search of clues, the ‘grown-ups' can enjoy the magnificent colours and scents. After the walk, what better reward than a nice warming cup of hot chocolate with cream and a homemade cake in the Courtyard Restaurant, or perhaps make it a lunchtime visit and enjoy the Spanish dish of the day with a glass of wine or beer! The Man Up In The Mud run is a great mud run approximately 4.5 miles in distance. Following a great coastal route, the course promises to be boggy and muddy with obstacles to climb over and under!
The BANFF Mountain Film Festival makes a return to the Torch Theatre this year with another selection of incredible short films showcasing adventures from across the world. There's also the opportunity to win a number of free goodies in a prize draw! Tickets cost £13.50 or £12 for concessions.
Running from the event headquarters at Oriel Y Parc in St. David's, this event sees approximately 1500 cyclists take part in the sportive tour of Pembrokeshire. There are three distance routes covering much of North Pembrokeshire taking you through Fishguard, Newport and Cardigan depending on the distance you take part in. It's a great event for athletes and supporters alike!
The St Davids Cathedral Festival takes place across ten days with a range of classical and contemporary musical performances taking place in the beautiful setting of St Davids Cathedral. This event is a success year after year, and is definitely one not to be missed. Performers in the past have included the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, The Sixteen, Goodwick Brass Band. This ultra marathon is approximately 66.6 miles in distance, with approximately 40 miles of the course running along the coastal path with the remainder along the road. In 2016, only 6 people managed to complete and receive their finisher's medal so you can imagine the difficulty level of this challenge! The course runs through coastal locations such as Solva, Porthclais, St Justinians, Whitesands, Abereiddy and Abermawr, guaranteeing a really memorable course. Due to the nature of the course, cut off is at 20 hours with 5 check points and all participants will be required to bring along a full kit of the following items: Head Torch, Space Blanket, Whistle, Mobile Phone, Map (Supplied), Water, Energy Food, Hat, Gloves, Waterproof Clothing, Sun Cream. Entry costs £45 per person.
With a packed weekend of music, literature, sport and food, Solva's Edge Festival makes the most of the local produce and events, and is a great weekend for all the family. The weekend hosts a Battle of the Bands, an open-water swim and a football tournament, plus there is a Beer and Cider festival throughout the weekend. There will also be a variety of stalls, literature talks, raffles and live music. There really is plenty going on this weekend! A military fortress, museum and cafe located within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The museum at Chapel Bay Fort is illustrated and explains military technology and weaponry through the ages, with a variety of displays including artillery and associated tools and instruments, WW I, Bomb Disposal and Waterloo amongst others. Volunteers are on hand to answer any question and add to your appreciation of the displays.
Guided tours are conducted by a dedicated team of volunteers and provide access to areas of the fort which are otherwise out of bounds to the public. Tours present further information about Chapel Bay Fort and the defences of Milford Haven and the Royal Dockyard at Pembroke Dock, alongside information about the large exhibits displayed on the terreplein of the fort.
A tour lasts approximately 40 minutes, and is included in the entrance fee to the museum.

Having stayed here two years ago we knew what a great cottage this is and base to enjoy Pembrokeshire. This year added kayaking and crabbing at Dale and a trip to St David's. We have so enjoyed a very happy few days away from the maddening crowds of Royal Berkshire. This is a very comfortable home from home holiday cottage, The only thing missing for us O.A.P,s was something to hold onto in the shower.The scenic coastal walks have been beautiful and challenging. Having locals eateries within walking distance of the cottage was an added bonus

Marloes sands is beautiful and we were lucky enough to have nice sunny day tp play on the beach and in the sea.Tried lots of new things, surfing in newgale, coasteering in Abereiddi, and cycling at Llys y Fran. Ended up being quite a tiring week but had so much fun!Had a great time in St Davids, found a great new walk near the Bishops Palace!
