The lovely cottage garden wraps around the cottage and with its flowering shrubs and plants, it is a perfect spot to enjoy an alfresco meal on a summer’s evening.
The scenic country and coastal walks are a must from which to enjoy the fabulous views, join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and explore the beautiful, golden sandy beach and tidal estuary where the river Nevern reaches the sea. The area abounds with bird and wildlife and the different seasons bring different visitors. The small town of Newport is just a few minutes’ drive away and has interesting pubs, restaurants, craft shops and galleries to enjoy; golfing enthusiasts will delight in playing the nearby course with its stunning sea views.
An ideal holiday base to get away from it all and enjoy a slower pace to life.

The street market in Newport runs from the beginning of April to the end of December. The market is open on Mondays, weather permitting, from Its aim is to promote and sell local produce and products and it presents an opportunity to buy fresh produce and locally reared meats.
Dyfed Shire Horse Farm, Eglwyswrw a tourist attraction at the foot of the Preseli Mountains. They are known internationally for breeding a shire horse called Major Mercury (aka Dyfed Celt) one of the household cavalry drum horses. There is plenty for the whole family to do, whatever the weather. Daily Timetable of activities including, Harnessing demonstrations, during which we will dress the horse in a working set of harness and explain the function and history of the harness, Horse and cart rides (Summer Holidays Only) Tractor ride around the working farm, Animal Feeding and Donkey Grooming. They also have an Indoor soft play area & Outdoor adventure area - Crazy Golf, Sand Shed and Skittles. Nature Trail with woodlands and hedgerows to explore and stunning views of the Preseli Mountains to enjoy.

Head to Fishguard's Town Hall every Saturday morning for the popular Farmer's Market where you'll have a chance to sample and buy a range of local produce such as eggs, cheeses, breads, jams and chutneys.

Head to the Victorian Christmas Fair at Picton Castle and soak up the wonderful Christmas atmosphere! The picturesque 13th Century Castle makes a perfect setting for a Christmas market with staterooms and corridors housing over 60 stalls offering handmade gifts, local produce, handcrafted jewellery, ceramics and toys. Follow a trail through the Castle and out into the courtyard whilst sampling delicious refreshments and browsing for presents.The event runs from 10am to 5pm with last entry at 4pm, entry prices TBC. Please note, card payments may not be accepted at all stalls.
Picton Castle is holding a magical family friend Christmas event every weekend throughout December this year up until Christmas. Take the children to meet Santa and receive a gift, or take part in the craft workshops or Christmas trail. Festive refreshments including mulled wine and spiced apple juice will be available. This event runs from 10am until 5pm with the last tour available at 4.30pmTickets must be bought in advance, and each ticket includes entry to the gardens plus a drink and a gift. Fishguard once again welcomes you to it's Annual New Year's Eve Street Party! With celebrations, live music and fireworks - it really is a fantastic party to celebrate the coming of the New Year! Refreshments are available on the street and in the surrounding pubs and restaurants. This event is free entry, donations are appreciated as any money given is then put towards next year's celebrations.
A perfect way to bring in the new year, Victoria Hall in Roch is hosting their annual New Years celebrations with a bonfire and fireworks. The event starts from 5pm onwards with the lighting of the bonfire, and refreshments are available in the hall throughout the evening. Admission to be paid upon entry.
This is an annual event which takes places right in the centre of the town of Cardigan on the last Saturday in April. The main attraction is the parade which goes through the town, made up of local horses followed by vintage vehicles such as tractors, cars and motorcycles. Head along in the morning to see the horses being judged.
The Fishguard Folk Festival, always guaranteed to be a fun weekend! With a number of concerts, performances, workshops and events taking place at various locations throughout Fishguard, there's plenty to choose from!
With two different distances available, you can either enter the Middle Distance event which is made up of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile cycle and a 13.1 mile run; or the Sprint Distance which is made up of a 750m swim, a 13 mile cycle and a 4 mile run. Whether you're an athlete or a spectator, supporters line the streets creating an amazing atmosphere and energy which definitely makes this event a must-see!

When we forst arrived we couldnt believe how lovely the cottage was. Nicole was running from room to room, We left food out for our little friend the fox, We tired ourselves out on our walks and mountain biking. Loved every minute of the peace and quiet and stunning scenery. Flew a kite on the beach and enjoyed our little walks over the sand dunes. Absolutely fantastic New years break. Really sad to be going home even though we have got aching legs and bums haha. Definately going to return and try a summer here, Thank you
