The Location

Conveniently located between the twin towns at the heart of North Pembrokeshire, Fishguard and Goodwick. This hub of outstanding natural beauty blends the allure of the sea, towering cliffs, the Preseli Hills and delightfully mysterious valleys. Ideally located for adventure sports as well as gentle and challenging walking routes Fishguard is perched right on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, surrounded by Britain’s only Coastal National Park.

Fishguard harbour

With its picturesque harbour having been the setting for the film Moby Dick, Fishguard offers a range of independent shops and businesses, galleries, gift and antique shops, a weekly market, and plenty of cafes, pubs and restaurants. Children and adults alike will enjoy crabbing in Lower Town. It has a vibrant local community with regular events including folk and jazz festivals as well as sporting events such as The Fishguard Triathlon and Challenge Wales passing through. Keen cyclists will enjoy the National Coast Cycle route which passes through Fishguard and offers dozens of circular routes to explore. There is a useful locked storage room at the rear of Mowbray, perfect for leaving bikes and kayaks with drying facilities for all of your wet weather gear.

Fishguard fort

No holiday in Fishguard would be complete without a visit to Newport, popular with sailing enthusiasts and its long golden sandy beach or the tiny City of St Davids with its historic majestic Cathedral and Bishops Palace.

Take to the Coastal Path where you can really appreciate the stunning coastline. Enjoy dog walks through Goodwick and onto Strumble Head or in the opposite direction, take a circular walk around Dinas Head including Aberfforest, Pwllgwaelod and Cwm yr Eglwys. The North Pembrokeshire coastline is dramatic with rugged cliffs, hidden bays and sandy coves, the highlights have to be Abermawr, Porthgain and Abereiddy with the famous Blue Lagoon. There are a number of beachside pubs where you can enjoy a drink and a meal before taking advantage of the Strumble Shuttle for the return journey.

Mowbray is a wonderfully spacious property set in a thriving community with gorgeous views surrounded by plenty of activities to enjoy making it the ideal base for a family holiday by the sea.
