Pembrokeshire Dog Walk: Tenby Town
Sandy the American Field Cocker Spaniel loves winter walks by the sea
In regards to Pembrokeshire dog walks, a stroll around Tenby town with your furry four-legged friend is a must for the bucket list. Explore all four of the town's award-winning stunning sandy beaches, wander through the cobbled streets and quaint independent stores before stopping off for coffee and cake in any number of the great coastal cafes.
With a name like Sandy, it's no wonder that beach walks are her favourite. She adores a stroll through the cobbled streets of Tenby browsing the shop windows but practically bounces onto the sand as soon as she sees those waves.
Some of Tenby’s beaches impose dog restrictions during the summer months so this one is best explored during those wintry visits to Pembrokeshire. Head to North Beach and take in views of Goscar Rock and the two lifeboat stations, this is the location of the Ironman Wales and Long Course Weekend swims so you might spot some training athletes in the water. Continue along to the picturesque harbour, especially stunning at night with the twinkling lights and bobbing boats.
From here, take a walk up to Castle Hill to enjoy panoramic views over Carmarthen Bay and Caldey Island before coming back down to sea level for a stroll on Castle Beach with views of St Catherine’s Fort. Continue along the sand at low tide and you'll reach South Beach. Finish your walk with a visit into the town centre for refreshments or pick up some fish and chips.
Suitable for: Out of season visitors
