When is Easter 2025?
Easter Sunday falls on Sunday 20th April 2025, with Good Friday taking place a few days before on Friday 18th April 2025. Easter Bank Holiday Monday falls on Monday 21st April 2025, rounding out a delightful spring bank holiday weekend.
Most Easter holidays in Wales begin on the 12th of April with the last day of the spring school term on Friday 11th of April giving one week on either side of the bank holiday. Other parts of the UK however begin their holidays even earlier, on the 5th April.
Easter in Wales: Traditions
As with any holiday season, there are several well-known Easter traditions you might come across in Wales at this time of year. In days gone by, Tenby residents would create an effigy made from reeds and leave it standing in a quiet field affixed to a wooden cross - commemorating Christ’s time on the cross.
It is customary to clean and tidy graveyards in time for Palm Sunday, with families leaving fresh flowers on the graves of loved ones. People are also known to plan early morning hikes to nearby high summits to celebrate the resurrection by watching the new dawn.

Enjoy an Easter Afternoon Tea at Carew Castle
Plan a visit to Carew Castle during your Easter holidays in Pembrokeshire and indulge in a charming Easter Afternoon Tea at the Nest Tearoom within the walled garden of the castle. Held at 3pm daily between 31st March and 4th April, you can tuck into homemade cakes, finger sandwiches and Easter treats.
This experience costs £20pp and includes your choice of tea or coffee; add on a glass of Prosecco for just £5. Booking in advance is essential, head to the Carew Castle website to book online.

Have an "eggstravaganza" at Scolton Manor
Head to Scolton Manor for some family-friendly activities over the Easter holidays. This hidden gem in Pembrokeshire lies just outside Haverfordwest and has spacious grounds to roam so bring along a picnic or head to Edie’s Tea Room for a bite to eat and make the most of your day here.
Easter activities here have yet to be announced for 2025 but you can usually expect some kind of seasonal trail challenge that involves exploring the pretty grounds of this attraction. Previous years have seen special events across the two weeks including Easter Bingo, fun Bunny Bike Trail and “Egglympics” with crafting and spring planting available too.

Visit Milford Waterfront during the Easter Holidays
During the Easter holidays in Wales, Milford Waterfront tends to get involved by hosting a fun-for-all-the-family Easter Trail along the pretty marina walk. While 2025 dates haven’t yet been announced, the 2024 event offered trail forms for collection from Milford Marina Reception, Ty Milford Waterfront Reception and Milford Haven Museum.
The challenge was to identify all the locations of the colourful Easter egg baskets to be in with a chance of winning an Easter Hamper and a giant Easter bunny. We’re hoping this great activity will return for 2025 but keep an eye on what's on at Milford Waterfront to see what they have planned for Easter 2025.

Book a Wildlife Boat Trip
Experience the magnificent Pembrokeshire coast from the sea with a boat trip around Ramsey Island, Skomer Island and/or Grassholm Island; all of which are teeming with wildlife come the spring.
Voyaging around Ramsey is spectacular as the island provides a wealth of wildlife, spectacular scenery and natural heritage. Boats launch from the old lifeboat station at St Justinians - it’s a must-do this Easter. During the Easter holidays in Pembrokeshire, the usual fun activities are guaranteed at Folly Farm and a family day out here comes highly recommended.
