Booking one of our holiday cottages in St Ishmaels will give you the ideal opportunity to explore this picturesque village located between the estuary town of Milford Haven and the seaside community of Dale.
St Ishmaels’ 12th-century church, located on the outskirts of the village, is made even prettier by the stream that flows right past it; the site is said to be where St Ishmael himself founded his own church back in the 6th century.
There is a pub within walking distance of several of our St Ishmaels holiday cottages, the Brook Inn, which has been the centre of the community since the 1880s. The Brook is renowned for its cosy, welcoming atmosphere and serves great food at weekends. There is also a garden centre with a popular café in the village.
The nearby beach of Lindsway Bay is only a 10-minute walk from the village across open playing fields or, alternatively, can be accessed from the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. The steps down to the beach are steep, but what you will discover at the foot of them is a great reward. If you time it right with the tides, you’ll be greeted by an expanse of beautiful sand, ample amounts of rock pools and large, majestic cliffs.
The beaches of St Brides and Martin's Haven are also only a short drive away, with the latter doubling as a departure point for boat trips to Skomer Island. This island is a truly stunning location where you will be able to spot seals, puffins, dolphins, porpoises and a variety of fascinating seabird species, so make sure you bring a camera.
