There is gravel parking adjacent to the garage immediately before you reach the cottage. Go up the steps to reach the back door and walk around to the front door or use the second access up the ramp on the left of the cottage. This is sufficient for three or four cars. Adjacent to the garage, the house is approached via 9 steps, each 6 inches/15cm high. The path then leads up to the side door where there are 5 further steps which are also 6 inches/15cm high. To avoid the steps there is an alternative access leading to the house. This is located further along the road where a sloping concrete path can be used to reach the front door. There are no steps at the front door, just a threshold sill in the doorway. The lawn garden is situated in front of the house and is reached across a small gravelled area and up 3 steps approximately 6 inches/15cm high. There are three sensor lights externally to illuminate the front of the house and side access. Internally there is a slate floor throughout with a 2 inch/5cm slope between the dining area and kitchen. There is a ground floor shower room in addition to the upstairs bathroom. The bedrooms are reached via a dogleg stairway which turns through 180 degrees. There is a handrail on one side.
We are the lucky first people to use The Grove. It is a fabulous cottage in a really peaceful, tranquil setting. We have been fortunate in having a perfect week of weather for walking, which is the main reason we come to Pembrokeshire. The cottage is very well equipped, and had so many positive points. All our walks have been local, from the door- Marloes, Dale and St Brides. The walking guides in the cottage will be very useful to visitors who don't know the area. Good luck to future visitors!
