Leaving Amroth at end of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path (not sure if it is the beginning or end!), it was great to walk and talk with my niece. It was also lovely to taste the salty sea air with the high tide initially.
We met so many people along our journey - individuals, couples and groups plus many of their four-legged friends of all shapes and sizes.
The steps up out of Amroth tested us, but how wonderful it was to walk along - we certainly had to take a few layers of clothing off, the spaniel coming down the steps was having a better time. We even met some old Coastal Cottages owners on our way before enjoying a snack on the wall at Wisemans Bridge Beach where we saw even more people as Pembrokeshire was selling itself on this glorious Spring morning.
The track between Wisemans Bridge and Saundersfoot saw us walk on the path, the road and even the beach but there were not as many sand shortcuts as the tide was not out far enough.
Coppet Hall Beach was amazing and as we walked along Saundersfoot Beach, the people we could see sitting sunbathing on their balconies overlooking the bay looked more like they were in the Costa de Sol.
Chips from Saundersfoot gave us a boost for the steep uphill climb of St Brides Hill which was actually not quite the killer I feared - but certainly required a snail's pace, not a speed merchant! I was helped along with it by my thumbstick, a great reminder of my dad. We even had a robin join us for our sandwich.
I certainly felt this morning enthused me with the amazing scenery, great company and chat and that refreshing sea air. We are so blessed to live here, we really should get out and do this more often. Thank you Walk All Over Cancer for giving me that push (or was that pull?).
