Barafundle Bay and Stackpole Quay: A Dog-Friendly Walk

Go for a sandy beach stroll with your dog

Between Stackpole Quay and Stackpole Head is the sandy beach of Barafundle Bay, voted by many as one of the top 10 beaches in the world. The pristine, clear water and gorgeous golden sands of Barafundle, fringed by dunes and cliffs displays the natural beauty of a truly unspoilt bay. Why not explore one of Pembrokeshire's best dog-friendly walks?

The Route

Barafundle is only accessible by the cliff path from the Stackpole Quay car park, which is followed by a steep walk down to the bay winding through the dunes. It is certainly worth the effort, so please take the time to visit our beautiful Pembrokeshire Coastline - it will not disappoint you! Barafundle is around half a mile through the National Trust Stackpole Estate from the Quay.

To the south of the bay, along the breathtaking length of Coastal Path, leads you to Stackpole Head.

While you are in the area, remember to take a look at Stackpole Quay itself, one of the smallest harbours you may ever find.

The Stackpole Quay Boathouse Tea Rooms are superbly located, so on your way back, head for a light refreshment and take a well-earned rest! The tea rooms are just by where you have parked the car.

This Pembrokeshire dog walk is approximately 2 miles long.
