The hamlet of Pwllgwaelod is less than half a mile from the popular destinations of Dinas and Cwm yr Eglwys yet is also a sanctuary of its very own. Relaxing comes easily here and it’s easy to de-stress when you stay at one of our holiday cottages in Pwllgwaelod.
Those who enjoy energetic holidays are well catered for here, too, as there are public tennis courts which can be booked in nearby Dinas and Fishguard. Other fitness-friendly local attractions include a public swimming pool, a mountain bike hire centre and horse-riding stables, all of which are just a few minutes away by car.
The Old Sailors restaurant is sat on the seafront by the beach at Pwllgwaelod and serves an excellent range of food, although it’s most well-known for its Pembrokeshire-caught seafood dishes. Meanwhile, the nearby village of Dinas, within walking distance of our Pwllgwaelod holiday cottages, is very well-equipped, offering a village shop, pubs, a restaurant, a Post Office and a lovely fish and chip takeaway.
Pwllgwaelod is situated at the start of a wonderful walk that leads from the beach, around the Dinas Island headland, into Cwm yr Eglwys, and back through a flat wooded valley (which features a path designed for the disabled), before heading back to Pwllgwaelod beach. Upon this scenic stroll, you’ll notice a whole host of wildlife, marine life and wildflowers.
The towns of Fishguard and Newport are also only a short drive away and well worth a visit.
