Blackberry Cottage is a superb traditional stone cottage with a modern twist set in the heart of Upper Solva above this picturesque harbour and just yards from the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Both the Coastal Path and the water are about two minutes’ walk from the front door!
Deceptively spacious, the cottage has been recently renovated and extended to give a clever mix of traditional and modern living, comfortably furnished throughout to a high standard, with tiled and wooden floors throughout. The glazed porch leads through to the cottage style sitting room complete with beams, leather sofas and wood burning stove to cosy around. The spacious kitchen/diner has a super oak fitted kitchen with a rangemaster, perfect for keen chefs, while the dining area opens to a walled sunken patio area, extending the living space further and allowing sheltered alfresco dining. There is also a handy practical wet room and utility room. Stairs lead up to first floor bedrooms nestling in the eaves (one room with king size bed and one room with double bed which can be unlinked into twin beds), while from the landing a walkthrough reading nook with armchair and day bed leads through to the modern second sitting room. This second sitting room offers a complete modern contrast with its glass floor to ceiling gable end wall, ensuring a light and airy space where you can relax and admire the views over the garden. There is a second wood burning stove here for those chillier evenings. Patio doors open to the enclosed, rear lawned garden where you can dine alfresco on a summer’s day soaking up the views over the fields and rooftops. This raised garden can also be accessed via steps from the kitchen/diner.
There is a pub, a well-stocked grocery store and a post office all within walking distance, while a short downhill walk will take you to Lower Solva with its selection of pubs and eateries serving great food, as well as a range of shops and galleries. Clustered around this picturesque inlet, a sheltered sandy-bottomed harbour is perfect for wild swimmers, sailing enthusiasts and keen kayakers, while children will especially enjoy crabbing off the sea wall. Take to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path just yards from your door to explore this stunning coastline on foot, absorbing the breathtaking views over St Brides Bay while you admire the nature reserve islands of Ramsey, Skokholm and Grassholm, famed for their array of bird and marine life. The local Solva Woollen Mill is well worth a visit, with its fabulous cafe and shop. A short drive will take you to the wonderful tiny City of St Davids with its majestic Cathedral and Bishop’s Palace, there is a good selection of shops, pubs, cafes and galleries to explore. Take a boat trip from St Justinian’s either around the islands or to visit Ramsey Island, the bird and wildlife will amaze, especially in September during seal pupping season. Beach fans, bodyboarders, canoeists or surfers can head east to the stunning Newgale Beach or west to sandy Whitesands Beach - both offering equipment rental, watersport instruction and dining options.

"What a stunning home! Spent our evenings either downstairs in the kitchen, in the beautiful lounge upstairs, or eating in Solva. We tried to book here for next year for 2 weeks but no availability - so must book earlier! The dogs loved it too!"
"It was the second time the two of us stayed in this wonderful cottage (and hopefully not the last!). A brilliant week - lots of coastal walking with beautiful scenery."

We love Blackberry Cottage and Solva. The house is stylish, well equipped and finished to a very high standard. It is clean, very warm and very comfortable. I’m sure we’ll be back! Thank you!!
We loved the cottage which is furnished and finished to a very high standard. Wonderful to have two sitting rooms and the Hugh TV downstairs was amazing! The kitchen was very well equipped and the bedrooms were very comfortable and really nicely done. It was quite a wet and windy week (as you would probably expect in March), but we had a lovely restful time. Great for the dogs to be able to walk down the cliff to the harbor. Many Thanks!!
