The property is approached via an A-road; there is a winding drive through trees to the property. There is parking for one car for Wood Cottage plus some shared visitor spaces if available. There is a bus-stop (sheltered) 70 metres from the end of the drive served by a good service all the year round to St Davids and to Haverfordwest. During Spring and Summer services are especially frequent allowing access to many points along the coastal path especially handy for walkers. Access to the bus stop however is via a short stretch of road without a pavement. Therefore, bright clothing (and a light at night) along with due caution is recommended. Access to Wood Cottage is via one step up (approximately 20cm) followed by another two steps down (approx 15cm each) and further on another step down (approx 10cm) before reaching the front door where one small step up into the lobby followed by another into the kitchen area. There is outside lighting which comes on automatically at dusk. There is no on-site assistance available with luggage. It is suggested that keys are kept in the safe when visitors go out as a fee including call-out charge will have to be charged if a replacement key is needed. Please note that the external stairs leading now to the bedroom window are uneven and potentially hazardous. Please supervise young children in this area. The garden with its magnificent sea views is fairly level. There is also a gravelled area and a wooded area available all of which are reached via a maximum of two steps. Patio furniture is available which is light and easy to move about. A lockable outdoor store area is available for keeping bikes, pushchairs, wheelchairs, toys etc. All areas indoors are well lit and white or brightly decorated. Downstairs there is living room and kitchen all level with no steps. Kitchen is well lit with down lighting to food preparation and eating area. Access to the second floor is via a straight flight of standard stairs with handrail. Both bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs again all on one level with no steps. Bath and shower are fitted with a strong wall mounted handle for safe access for those with mobility difficulties. There is no WC on the ground floor. Trained assistance/Guide dogs are welcome. Unless using the internet for calls, mobile phone reception is poor inside the property as the cottage walls are extremely thick. Messages can be received if phones are left in bedroom or kitchen windows. Reception is however excellent in front of the house and in the car park. We hope in due course to have a landline connected. WiFi Broadband is provided. There is a landline for emergency calls and incoming call only.

We had a perfect holiday. Never thought we would need to pack sun lotion in Wales but 20+degrees C. The cottage has a perfect location for the Pembrokeshire coast. Had a great week. The cottage was very well appointed, almost like home, if not better. Solva, probably the best village on the Pembrokeshire coast. Coastal path fantastic towards Newgale and St Davids. Daughter and friend (both aged 13) loved it - a miracle for 13 year olds. Your cottage is a wonderful retreat for hard-working parents. Thank you for a great break.

A very good place to walk the coastal path from. Walking to St Davids is nice relatively flat walk. Walking to Newgale is a bit like mount-anearing in places and quite wearing on the knees.
