Wood Cottage is a beautiful and fully refurbished 2 bedroom stone cottage situated in the grounds of the Llanunwas estate in Solva. The cottage, tucked behind the adjacent estate house, is set in grounds of over 3 acres with shared lawns, wooded area, private wooded drive, entrance and parking facilities. Breathtaking views over St Brides Bay, with Ramsey Island to the West and Skokholm and Grassholm Islands to the South are enjoyed from the estate. A path from the cottage connects within 400 yards of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.
It is decorated in a smart, clean contemporary style and compliments its original features. Downstairs, the cottage comprises a modern, fitted and fully equipped kitchen/diner. This leads to a comfortable sitting room complete with large sofas and a thoughtful collection of guides, books, CDs and DVDs to suit all interests. Stairs lead to the bedrooms, bathroom and toilet. The master bedroom, a former Pembrokeshire crog loft, is a spacious oasis, decorated in white with ash furniture. The second bedroom includes adult sized bunk beds and storage space.
The cottage’s old wood store can be used to store bikes, surfboards, wetsuits etc, and making Wood Cottage ideal for walkers, wildlife enthusiasts, young families and families who like adventure.
Solva’s picturesque harbour is approximately half a mile away and the artistic village with its pubs, shops, art galleries and restaurants is waiting to be explored. There are beaches all around Solva, some of the best in the County, whatever your preference - small coves or large, sandy expanses ideal for water sports.

The property is approached via an A-road; there is a winding drive through trees to the property. There is parking for one car for Wood Cottage in communal car park plus shared visitor spaces if available. There is a bus-stop (sheltered) 70 metres from the end of the drive served by a good service all the year round to St Davids and to Haverfordwest. During Spring and Summer services are especially frequent allowing access to many points along the coastal path especially handy for walkers. Timetables provided in the house. Access to the bus stop however is via a short stretch of road without a pavement. Therefore, bright clothing (and a light at night) along with due caution is recommended. Access to Wood Cottage is via one step up (approximately 20cm) followed by another two steps down (approx 15cm each) and further on another step down (approx 10cm) before reaching the front door where one small step up into the lobby followed by another into the kitchen area. There is outside lighting which comes on automatically at dusk. There is no on-site assistance available with luggage. It is suggested that keys are placed in the same place where found when visitors go out as a fee including call-out charge will have to be charged if a replacement key is needed. Please note that the external stairs leading now to the bedroom window are uneven and potentially hazardous. Please supervise young children in this area. The garden with its magnificent sea views is fairly level. There is also a gravelled area and a wooded area available all of which are reached via a maximum of two steps. Patio furniture is available which is light and easy to move about. A lockable outdoor store area is available for keeping bikes, pushchairs, wheelchairs, toys etc All areas indoors are well lit and white or brightly decorated. Downstairs there is sitting room and kitchen/diner all level with no steps. Kitchen/diner is well lit with down lighting to food preparation and eating area. Our mother who has macular degeneration has particularly benefited from this. Access to the first floor is via a straight flight of standard stairs with handrail. Both bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs again all on one level with no steps. Bath and overhead shower are fitted with a strong wall mounted handle for safe access. There is no WC on the ground floor. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept guide-dogs as some of our visitors are allergic to animals. Mobile phone reception is poor inside the property as the cottage walls are extremely thick. Messages can be received if phones are left in bedroom or kitchen windows. Reception is however excellent in front of the house and in the car park. There is a landline for emergency calls and incoming calls only.
