Pembrokeshire's Unmissable Christmas Events
Take part in one of Pembrokeshire's festive events for an unforgettable Christmas
Pembrokeshire is pretty magical all year round, but it's even more special at Christmas when the county is decorated with twinkling fairy lights and festive trees. The last two months of the year are jam-packed with some great community events, all put together to help you embrace that festive spirit and celebrate with some Christmas cheer!
Christmas just isn’t complete until you’ve got the whole family together for a group outing to see a panto, and there are usually a few to choose between! Practise your best "He's Behind You" and head out to Theatr Mwldan for Cardigan Theatre's performance, or venture to The Lyric Theatre in Carmarthen for an afternoon of fun, laughs and singalongs. Be quick booking for Milford's Torch Theatre pantomime as it often sells out fast.
Tenby's Boxing Day Swim
Boxing Day just isn’t Boxing Day without a dip in the sea! Brave the shores for Tenby’s Boxing Day Swim; a fantastic annual event which gets all the community involved, either through joining in with the swim or supporting those brave enough to do so. Each year, hundreds of swimmers take to the seas to raise money for charity, some of whom do so in fancy dress. Prizes are available for the likes of the Best Dressed, so make sure to put all your effort in for a chance to win!
If you’re struggling to make a decision on what to do for New Years Eve, why not head to The Castle Inn in Little Haven for their Annual Fancy Dress Party? The theme changes every year but no matter what the theme and whatever outfit you decide on, you're guaranteed to enjoy an evening of fun complete with midnight fireworks! Enjoy Christmas cocktails, homemade mulled wine, real ales and mince pies – all alongside a roaring log fire!
Alternatively, you could welcome in the New Year in at Fishguard's Annual Street Party! Each year, Fishguard and Goodwick Community Events Association shuts down the town square and puts on what is often regarded as one of the top NYE events in Wales! Local bands take to the stage on what is usually the main square with a party starting early in the evening and continues right through to 12.30am, with a countdown and fireworks to celebrate the new year! Show your support and buy a wristband entry ticket, proceeds go back into the fund for more fantastic community events.

If you can’t make it to Tenby for the Boxing Day Swim, you’ll have a second chance to brave the cold Welsh waters at Saundersfoot for their Annual New Year’s Day Swim! The swim takes place around lunchtime and welcomes everyone to take part! With over 1500 swimmers in past years, this event has managed to raise over an incredible £47,000 which has been shared between 61 charitable and worthy causes, including HOPE, Trallwm Animal Sanctuary and Martlett’s Hospice. The event usually begins mid-morning with live music and warm-ups.
