About Delfryn

Delfryn is a super stone cottage tucked behind Ty Mor one of the 3 properties set round a gravel courtyard making up Manorbier Holiday Cottages just a short walk from the beautiful sandy beach. Originally it formed part of a 17th Century farm in the heart of the seaside village of Manorbier, it has been sympathetically renovated to retain its character and some original features. To the front of Delfryn is a small enclosed, gravel terrace where you can sit and enjoy a coffee, alternatively climb the stone steps up to your own raised flagged terrace which offers the most stunning views out to sea, enjoy an alfresco meal here, just relax and soak up the vista. Comfortably furnished with a seaside cottage feel, it is warm and welcoming.

The front door opens directly into your kitchen/diner with cottage-style fitted kitchen that is well-equipped, with 1 step down to a cosy sitting room perfect for those chillier evenings.  Stairs from the kitchen lead up to the 2 bedrooms and a bathroom above with exposed A frame beams.

Conveniently located, there is a popular tearoom and beach shop opposite, as well as a pub and well-stocked village shop within walking distance. The Medieval Castle is well worth a visit and regularly holds events, there is also a super Norman village Church. A short stroll down the hill takes you to the stunning golden beach, ideal for families, it is also popular with surfers. Enjoy discovering its rock pools at low tide. Take to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to explore this stunning coastline on foot or take advantage of the buses to travel further afield. There are a host of beautiful beaches just waiting to be discovered including Swan Haven, Freshwater East and West, Barafundle or to the East lies the popular walled town of Tenby, wander its pretty cobbled streets with its range of facilities and discover its picturesque harbour and 4 glorious sandy beaches. In the opposite direction lies the historic town of Pembroke, birthplace of Henry VII, the medieval Castle is inspiring, there are a range of facilities and from here lies the Angle Peninsula with more beautiful beaches including Broad Haven South, the glorious Lily Ponds and West Angle Bay. There is something for everyone with a host of family attractions including Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm, Heatherton Activity Park and Manor House Wildlife Park all within a short drive and golfers will enjoy the nearby choice of golf courses.

Delfryn is ideal for just a couple or a small family to get away whatever the season or for larger parties to book with Ty Mor when the interlinking door in the sitting room can be opened up.

Shares the same location as 43670 Hafod and 43672 Ty Mor and can be booked together.

Delfryn is a period property in the village of Manorbier and its Conservation Area, one of three cottages that originally formed a farmstead, that are collectively known as Manorbier Coastal Cottages. Access to the property is from the main street with a narrow entrance which is best approached as shown in the site plan sent to guests when paid in full, with Delfryn shown in green and there is ample parking for all guests. The property has one inter-connecting door linking it to Ty Mor, lockable on both sides to ensure privacy. Should the two properties be booked together for a larger party, the door will be unlocked, but please note there is a single step between the two properties. Alternatively, level access can be achieved by accessing each property via their front doors. The driveway is of gravel and there is a parking space reserved for guests as shown in the site plan (number 3). The driveway is shared with guests in Ty Mor (shown in red on the plan) and Hafod (shown in blue on the plan). Each property enjoys its own garden or outside space, and its own allocated parking. Delfryn enjoys a small gravel garden to the front of the property, separated from the driveway by a low wall and picket fence with gate. It also has a terrace with views to Barafundle Bay and beyond as shown in light green on the site plan, with a set of uneven slate steps which are slippery when wet. It is a popular spot for celebrations, surrounded by a 1m high old stone wall. Young children should be encouraged not to climb on top of the wall as there is a steep drop down into the garden of Hafod below (some 12-15 feet drop). There is also a five-bar gate at the entrance of the driveway which could be closed, but guests should be mindful that other guests staying in Ty Mor and Hafod will need access to the driveway at all times. Inside Delfryn, there are doors of varying widths with the narrowest being 36 inches. There is a single step in the kitchen down into the lounge, and stairs up to the first floor. Level access is not possible into other areas of the house, owing to its period character and stairs. Flooring upstairs is carpet, with oak flooring in the landing and slate tiles in the bathroom. There is no bathroom downstairs. All flooring downstairs is slate, or wood. There are no ground floor bedrooms. There are no staff on site to welcome guests or help with baggage as the owners do not live locally. Access to the house is provided via a secure key safe. The property is managed by Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire who can be contacted on 01437 765765 in the event of any queries.

The two of us and our dog had a lovely autumn stay in this great cottage, a 5-minute stroll to the beach and the coastal path so ideal for us walkers and beach-obsessed collie. Pub and shop a few minutes walk in the other direction. The cottage was clean, cosy and had everything we needed. We plan to return!
