Delfryn is a period property in the village of Manorbier and its Conservation Area, one of three cottages that originally formed a farmstead, that are collectively known as Manorbier Coastal Cottages. Access to the property is from the main street with a narrow entrance which is best approached as shown in the site plan sent to guests when paid in full, with Delfryn shown in green and there is ample parking for all guests. The property has one inter-connecting door linking it to Ty Mor, lockable on both sides to ensure privacy. Should the two properties be booked together for a larger party, the door will be unlocked, but please note there is a single step between the two properties. Alternatively, level access can be achieved by accessing each property via their front doors. The driveway is of gravel and there is a parking space reserved for guests as shown in the site plan (number 3). The driveway is shared with guests in Ty Mor (shown in red on the plan) and Hafod (shown in blue on the plan). Each property enjoys its own garden or outside space, and its own allocated parking. Delfryn enjoys a small gravel garden to the front of the property, separated from the driveway by a low wall and picket fence with gate. It also has a terrace with views to Barafundle Bay and beyond as shown in light green on the site plan, with a set of uneven slate steps which are slippery when wet. It is a popular spot for celebrations, surrounded by a 1m high old stone wall. Young children should be encouraged not to climb on top of the wall as there is a steep drop down into the garden of Hafod below (some 12-15 feet drop). There is also a five-bar gate at the entrance of the driveway which could be closed, but guests should be mindful that other guests staying in Ty Mor and Hafod will need access to the driveway at all times. Inside Delfryn, there are doors of varying widths with the narrowest being 36 inches. There is a single step in the kitchen down into the lounge, and stairs up to the first floor. Level access is not possible into other areas of the house, owing to its period character and stairs. Flooring upstairs is carpet, with oak flooring in the landing and slate tiles in the bathroom. There is no bathroom downstairs. All flooring downstairs is slate, or wood. There are no ground floor bedrooms. There are no staff on site to welcome guests or help with baggage as the owners do not live locally. Access to the house is provided via a secure key safe. The property is managed by Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire who can be contacted on 01437 765765 in the event of any queries.
The two of us and our dog had a lovely autumn stay in this great cottage, a 5-minute stroll to the beach and the coastal path so ideal for us walkers and beach-obsessed collie. Pub and shop a few minutes walk in the other direction. The cottage was clean, cosy and had everything we needed. We plan to return!
