Spooky Halloween at Folly Farm
Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo can be found near Tenby and is easily one of Wales’ best family days out. Their 2024 Spooky Halloween event in Pembrokeshire runs between 1st October and 3rd November, with certain activities only available during the local half term (26th Oct to 3rd Nov).
Dress the kids in their finest spooky outfits to receive a free treat upon entry, then spend your day touring the barn animal pumpkin trail and the scary scarecrow trail. Practically the whole park has undergone a Halloween transformation with haunted hay bales and new photo opportunity spots. A ride on the Vintage Funfair’s Ghost Train is of course, a must at this time of year!
Board the Ghost Train at Gwili Steam Railway
No Halloween in Pembrokeshire is complete without ghostly goings-on and where better to get involved than on a ghost train? Head to Carmarthen on the 29th, 30th and 31st of October for a Halloween Lights of the Valley Train Ride.
This stylish vintage steam train offers two departure times on each day at 4pm and 6:15pm with tickets at £15 per person (3+). Spooky entertainment is promised and all children attending will receive a themed biscuit, juice and a fun activity booklet to use during the journe. Refreshments will be available with a full bar service and hot food available.
Halloween Fun at Carew Castle
When looking for Halloween events in Pembrokeshire, or school holiday activities in general, be sure to take a look at Carew Castle’s calendar for the beloved attraction often has a host of family friendly things to do. This Halloween is no exception at Carew.
In keeping with the spooky season, there are various events and Halloween activities at Carew Castle to join in with from the 26th October. Explore the castle in search of lost ingredients for a spell as part of The Sorcerer’s Quest (£2 per child + normal admission) or venture through the Creepy Mill for a haunted house experience (free with normal admission, recommended age 4+).
Take part in Carew Castle’s Halloween Ghost Tour running at 4:30pm daily between 28th and 31st Oct (children £6.50, adults £8.50). The recommended age is 5+ and booking in advance is advised. At 1pm on the 28th and 29th, you also have the opportunity to attend an interactive storytelling adventure with their Storymaster’s Tales event. This hour-long multi-media event must be booked in advance (£6pp) and is charged on top of normal admission. It is recommended for ages 6+.
Attend a Room on the Broom Storytelling Workshop at 11am and 2pm on the 31st October and 1st November. This child friendly event is aimed at 4-8 year olds with a £3 entry cost in addition to the normal admission price, booking is advised.
Bringing the castle’s Halloween activities in Pembrokeshire to a close is a their Halloween Paranormal Investigation which delves into the supernatural with Ouija boards, table tipping and more. This one is guaranteed to leave you feeling spooked starting at 6pm and ending at 10pm, making it suitable for 18+ only. Tickets cost £40 and you must book online in advance.

Greenacre Market Garden near Amroth
For pumpkin picking in Pembrokeshire, Greenacre Market Garden near Amroth are practically the experts having been going now for ten years. Have plenty of fun here picking the best-looking pumpkins or purchase some marshmallows to roast over the fire pits. Think spooky trails, plenty of refreshments and even a fun maze to explore.
Open from 10th October, tickets can be bought online in advance with prices of £5 per person during the week and £6 per person during weekends. Your ticket includes a booking fee, entrance fee and spending tickets worth £3 which can be redeemed for pumpkins and cafe refreshments. This pram and wheelchair-friendly site is outdoors so sensible footwear is advised.
Windsor Farm Pumpkin Patch near Pembroke
One of the most popular pumpkin patches in Pembrokeshire, Windsor Farm near Pembroke has risen to popularity in the recent years. Located on a family-run sheep and beef farm, this one opens on 5th October for the season. This patch is undercover with a wealth of pumpkins on offer inside their Farm Barn which now features iconic artwork from the local Lloyd the Grafitti artist.
Entry is free and there’s no need to book in advance. Easily signposted from Lamphey village, Windsor Farm Pumpkin Patch in Pembrokeshire accepts both cash and card payments plus there’s refreshments available too.
Pembrokeshire Pumpkins near Newport
Pembrokeshire Pumpkins near Newport offers a wide selection of pumpkins including the traditional orange pumpkins that are most famously associated with the Halloween season. You can visit a Halloween grotto and frolic in the woodland play area before heading to the fields to go pumpkin picking in Pembrokeshire.
Open from 10:30am to 5:30pm every weekend from the 12th October onwards, this Pembrokeshire pumpkin patch is perfectly placed for anyone in north Pembrokeshire. Tickets are £8 per car and wheelbarrows can be provided to help you carry your pumpkin haul to the car. Again, this is an outdoors patch that can get muddy so wear sensible shoes.
Tenby’s Pumpkin Patch, Gumfreston
On the outskirts of Tenby in Gumfreston, just off the main road on the route to St Florence where you’ll find Heatherton and Manor Wildlife Park, lies Tenby’s Pumpkin Patch. This free pumpkin patch in Pembrokeshire is dog friendly (on leads) and even has furry farmyard animals to meet and greet in the farm barn.
No booking needed, this delightful patch is ideal for pumpkin picking in Pembrokeshire with Snack Patch refreshments on offer including pancakes and hot drinks. Open from 10am til 7pm on Saturdays and 10am til 5pm on Sundays, the patch officially opens on the 4th October.
Good Hook Pumpkin Patch near Haverfordwest
Unfortunately, this one is not set to open for 2024 but we’re hoping it will be back up and running for 2025. It’s a firm favourite being so central in Pembrokeshire near Haverfordwest but the poor weather has resulted in their pumpkin range not being quite ready for Halloween 2024.
