Think fright nights and ghoulish goings-on, there are always plenty of Halloween activities in Pembrokeshire to enjoy every October so pack a bag and transport the family west for a half-term holiday to remember. Spend your days at an adventure park like Folly Farm where the frightful season has taken over or attend a spooky event at a local Welsh castle. Pumpkin picking in Pembrokeshire is one of the most popular Halloween events you can get involved with, so it’s a good job there are several pumpkin patches across the county to choose from.

Halloween Events in Pembrokeshire

Spooky Halloween at Folly Farm

Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo can be found near Tenby and is easily one of Wales’ best family days out. Their 2025 Halloween event in Pembrokeshire is running throughout October (beginning on the 4th) and includes a scarecrow trail and the opportunity to take a spooky trip on their Haunted Hallows Escape themed VR ride.

During the half term between the 25th October and 2nd November, kids are encouraged to dress in their finest spooky outfits to receive a free treat upon entry. There will be daily card hunts, creepy creature time in the barn and various "Venoms vs Poisons" talks at midday. 

The whole park often undertakes a full Halloween transformation with haunted hay bales and photo opportunity spots. A ride on the Vintage Funfair’s Ghost Train is, of course, a must at this time of year!

Solve a Murder Mystery at Gwili Steam Railway

This Halloween in Pembrokeshire, head to Carmarthen on the 1st of November for an evening of detective work as you try to solve the clues in this fun adult-only event. 

This stylish vintage steam train offers a three-course meal for all who attend, so you can dine on delicious dishes as you try to work out "whodunnit". Gwili Steam Railway will also be operating a full bar service with a range of wines, spirits, ales, soft drinks and more available.

Halloween Fun at Carew Castle

When looking for Halloween events in Pembrokeshire, or school holiday activities in general, be sure to take a look at Carew Castle’s calendar, for the beloved attraction often has a host of family-friendly things to do. This Halloween is no exception at Carew.

In keeping with the spooky season, there are various events and Halloween activities at Carew Castle to join in with from the 25th of October. Venture through the Creepy Mill for a haunted house experience (free with normal admission, recommended age 4+) on the 25th Oct or search for pumpkin clues with their Pumpkin Patch Adventure that is running between the 25th October and 2nd November (additional cost of £2 per child applies, prize included).  

At 1pm on the 27th, 28th and 29th of October, you can attend an interactive storytelling adventure at The Storymaster’s Tales event. This family-fantasy show encourages audience participation that will shape the story and must be booked in advance (£6pp) on top of normal admission. It is recommended for ages 6+.

Carew Castle

Take part in Carew Castle’s Halloween Ghost Tour running at 4:30pm daily between 28th and 31st Oct. The recommended age is 5+ and booking in advance is advised. Tickets cost £6.50 per child and £8.50 per adult on top of normal admission.

At 11am and 1pm on the 30th and 31st October, Carew Castle is running a Fantastic Beasts and How to Rescue Them event. Discover magical creatures, solve riddles and go on an almighty quest in this fantasy world that costs £5 per child, on top of normal admission. Recommended for ages 4-8, this event is a fantastic way to inspire children to think outside the box. 

Bringing the castle’s Halloween activities in Pembrokeshire to a close is their Halloween Paranormal Investigation which delves into the supernatural with Ouija boards, table tipping and more. This one is guaranteed to leave you feeling spooked, starting at 6pm and ending at 10pm, making it suitable for 18+ only. Tickets cost £40 and you must book online in advance. Please dress suitably for the weather and season, and bring a torch.

Pumpkin Picking in Pembrokeshire

If you’re spending Halloween in West Wales, then we recommend planning to visit one of the pumpkin patches in Pembrokeshire. A few leisurely hours searching a pumpkin patch for your very own pumpkin to take home is the perfect way to get into the spooky spirit, so wrap up warm and head out to one of these recommended patches this October.

Greenacre Market Garden near Amroth

For pumpkin picking in Pembrokeshire, Greenacre Market Garden near Amroth is practically the expert, having been going now for ten years. Have plenty of fun here picking the best-looking pumpkins or purchase some marshmallows to roast over the fire pits. Think spooky trails, plenty of refreshments and even a fun maze to explore.

Opening from Wednesday 8th October 2025, tickets can be bought online in advance at £5.50pp for weekday visits and £6.50 for weekend visits. Under 3s go free. Tickets include a booking fee, entrance fee and spending tokens which can be redeemed for pumpkins and cafe refreshments. This pram and wheelchair-friendly site is outdoors so sensible footwear is advised. Cash is the preferred method of payment, though cards are accepted.

Windsor Farm Pumpkin Patch near Pembroke

One of the most popular pumpkin patches in Pembrokeshire is Windsor Farm near Pembroke, which has risen to popularity in recent years. Located on a family-run sheep and beef farm, the 2025 opening date is Saturday 4th October at 10am. This patch is undercover with a wealth of pumpkins on offer inside their Farm Barn, which now features iconic artwork from the local Lloyd the Grafitti artist.

Entry is free with no need to book in advance. Easily signposted from Lamphey village, Windsor Farm Pumpkin Patch in Pembrokeshire accepts both cash and card payments, plus there are refreshments available too.

Pembrokeshire Pumpkins near Newport

Pembrokeshire Pumpkins near Newport offers a wide selection of pumpkins, including the traditional orange pumpkins that are most famously associated with the Halloween season. You can visit a Halloween grotto and frolic in the woodland play area before heading to the fields to go pumpkin picking in Pembrokeshire. There are even pedal tracros, games and a craft market too.

This Pembrokeshire pumpkin patch is perfectly placed for anyone in north Pembrokeshire. The 2025 Halloween season here begins on Saturday 11th October with tickets available online. Tickets are priced at £10.48 per car. Wheelbarrows can be provided to help you carry your pumpkin haul to the car as with the other outdoors patches, the terrain can get muddy underfoot so wear sensible shoes.

Tenby’s Pumpkin Patch, Gumfreston

On the outskirts of Tenby in Gumfreston, just off the main road on the route to St Florence where you’ll find Heatherton and Manor Wildlife Park, lies Tenby’s Pumpkin Patch. This free pumpkin patch in Pembrokeshire is dog-friendly (on leads) and even has furry farmyard animals to meet and greet in the farm barn.

No booking is needed; this delightful patch is ideal for pumpkin picking in Pembrokeshire, with Snack Patch refreshments on offer, including pancakes and hot drinks. Open from the 4th October 2025, you can pick from up to 15 different varieties at this pumpkin patch.

Unable to open in 2024 as a result of poor weather, we’re delighted to share that Good Hook Pumpkin Patch will be back up and running for 2025. It’s a firm favourite being so central in Pembrokeshire near Haverfordwest so make sure to attend if you're in the area.

Steynton Farm Pumpkins, near Milford Haven

With plenty of pumpkins for picking and photo opportunities, this patch near Milford is a top choice for many in the region. Expect pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, you can use them to carve your spooky decorations for Halloween, or cook up a storm with a hearty soup perfect for the autumn months. With a pumpkin barn and lots of seasonal decorations, you can also stop by the farm shop for a wealth of fresh local produce and delicious goodies.

Steynton Farm Pumpkins opens for 2025 on Friday 3rd October from 12pm.
