How do you feel about surf’n’turf? If the answer is “particularly passionate”, you’re in for a real treat with one of Pembrokeshire’s newest restaurants.
Born out of the changing landscape created by the pandemic, a local fisherman and wife team from South Pembrokeshire has opened up a brand new restaurant, Rib & Oyster. It’s safe to say it has fast become one of the most popular eateries in the county, and for good reason too.
You’ll find Rib & Oyster in Kilgetty, only a few miles from Saundersfoot and Tenby but also within easy reach of places like Narbeth, Carew, Pembroke and Amroth. At the helm stands Gavin, a local fisherman with years of fishing experience out of Saundersfoot and his wife, Lucie. Together, the two have established a wonderful intimate restaurant, fronted by one of the best butchers and fishmongers in the county.
Quality produce matched with delectable ingredients make up the menu and if you needed any more convincing that the food really is top-notch, you might be interested to hear they supply one of the most famous chefs in the country.
Mr Marco Pierre White gets the black pudding for all his restaurants here - so make sure to try it if you can!
Gavin, who spent many a year off the coast of Pembrokeshire on his trawler catching fresh seafood for the seaside restaurants of Saundersfoot and beyond, is now often seen donning his apron behind the counter. Some of our staff here at Coastal Cottages now visit so much that Gavin almost knows what we want before we do!
Meat and seafood lovers should make a point to pop by and pick up some treats (scotch egg anyone?) for a fantastic feast is guaranteed when you buy from here. If you’re planning to dine in, be quick in reserving a table as the small restaurant can only cater for a few at a time - and you certainly don’t want to miss the chance to eat here.
