About The Nant

The Nant is a beautifully renovated traditional stone cottage set in a unique spot down a narrow unmade lane overlooking Abereiddy Bay with wonderful sea views. A footpath runs through the grounds and down to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and beach. Nestling across from the owner’s holiday home, which is discreetly hidden in the trees, a stone path leads from the shared parking to this restored cottage with retained original features, offering sea views from nearly every room.

Step into the sitting/dining room with exposed beams and wooden floor, beautifully and simply furnished; the wood burning stove ensures a cosy feel even on the chilliest of evenings. Prepare meals in the compact fitted cottage-style kitchen. At the rear of the cottage there is a shower room and a utility room with wood store, washing machine, tumble dryer and a useful space to hang wet weather gear and wet suits. A very steep narrow tread staircase (coming down backwards is advisable) leads from the sitting room to the bedrooms nestling in the eaves above, all with wooden floors, beams and sea views.

The surrounding grounds add to this calm and secret place, with hidden benches and lovely spots to relax, admire the view, listen to the birdsong and the babbling stream that runs from a spring into a pond and then down the cwm on its way to the sea. An uneven stone path leads to a raised lawn with a gas barbecue and picnic bench - ideal for enjoying an alfresco meal while you soak up the stunning sea view to Abereiddy headland and the Blue Lagoon. The bird and wildlife will astound.

Spend your days on the blue sandy beach accessed via the footpath running through the grounds. Take to the Coastal Path on your doorstep to explore this stunning rugged coastline on foot. One of Pembrokeshire‘s most beautiful beaches, Traeth Llyfn,  is only 1 mile away,  well worth a visit despite the steps down, while Porthgain with its popular pub, The Sloop and its art gallery, are only half a mile further on. Beyond Porthgain is Trefin and the tiny fishing village of Abercaste with its picturesque harbour, while 4 miles to the west is the famous Whitesands Beach, popular with surfers both beginners and professionals alike.  The tiny City of St Davids is within a short drive with its range of facilities, galleries, and its majestic Cathedral and Bishops Palace. A boat from St Justinians to explore the island of Ramsey is sure to be a highlight of any holiday, especially come September and the arrival of the seal pups.

Escape to The Nant whatever the time of year to create memories to cherish, a truly special cottage in a wonderful location and ideal for enjoying a slower pace to life.

No baby equipment provided you are welcome to bring your own.

Care needed due to unfenced pond and stream.

Please note that access to the cottage is via an unmade, narrow drive. For cars wider than 1.6m (excluding door mirrors) there is a space by the farm with a trolley to transfer luggage down the lane to the cottage. Please check access statement for more details about vehicular access.

We have had a lovely few days in your beautiful Cottage and it's a real wrench to leave. The views are beautiful, we loved the walk down the path to the beach, dinner at The Sloop Inn, and shopping in St Davids. But most of all we loved our cosy bolthole, with a great fire, lots of games and everything we needed to make a perfect roast. We are already planning a return visit!
