Coppet Hall Beach is a small pretty bay with soft sand even at high tide. It is located at the eastern end of Saundersfoot Beach, separated by a stream running onto the beach on the western side at high tide. At low tide, a large expanse of beach is revealed ideal for beach games.
From here, enjoy sweeping views over the bay to Monkstone Point and beyond. Behind the beach runs a path following the old coal tramway, follow this through the tunnels to reach Saundersfoot in the west and along the coast to Wisemans Bridge in the east.
The beach is ideal for families as at low tide there is plenty of space for ball games and there is a rocky area ideal for rock pooling at the eastern end. This is also a popular beach for sailing and sea angling, plus there is a beach centre here where paddleboards and canoes can be hired. You'll find families sunbathing here and little ones paddling in the shores too.
There is a large paid car park, a café selling snacks, drinks and ice-creams plus a gift shop and toilets (including disabled facilities) as well as a public phone. The location is shared by the award-winning Coast Restaurant which serves quality food in this spectacular location.
Hire your paddleboards from Stand Up Paddleboards based here for a day on the water.
Coppet Hall Beach can be very busy in high season but can be a good alternative if the car parks in Saundersfoot are full. The village of Saundersfoot is only a short walk away so this beach can still be accessed easily from here.
Continue past Saundersfoot away from Tenby and you'll find Coppet Hall Beach on the eastern side of Saundersfoot. There's a handy large car park backing the beach where you can park (chargeable) and then follow the steps down to reach the shoreline or take one of the unmade paths at either end of the beach that slope onto the sand.
Alternatively, you can follow the level pathways through the old railway tunnels if you are walking/cycling from Saundersfoot. Due to the large parking area, many choose to park here and walk into Saundersfoot rather than vice versa.
Please note that the dog restrictions on Coppet Hall Beach have been changed to the following.
The area to the north of the beach (from the central steps across in front of the Beach Centre) is dog-free between 10am and 5pm from 1st May to 30th September. Dog are permitted from the central steps and back towards Saundersfoot Beach (which has its own dog restrictions).
There is new signage on all beach access points to illustrate this change to ensure that the beach can be enjoyed by everyone.
